Montgomery County Jury Information

The NYS Unified Court System would like to assure you that your health and safety remain a top priority for us as we resume essential court operations, including jury service.

Please Note:

Please bring personal face covering/mask and pen

Jurors will be temperature screened upon entrance to the Courthouse

Regular cleaning of court facilities
Limited people in courthouse
Mandatory use of face masks by court personnel and court visitors
Plexiglass barriers present at various locations (i.e. magnetometers / x-ray machines)
Indicators such as blue tape / red foot steps are present in public areas to ensure social distancing standards of 6 feet
Hand sanitizer bottles and wall dispensers are available for use for staff and court visitors

Reporting times for jurors will be staggered to ensure that proper physical distance is maintained throughout the impanelment process and service term.
Bring your own books/magazines/electronic devices and chargers.
Jurors may bring their own resealable beverage, snack or food that does not require refrigeration or heating.

Jurors should report to court ONLY when instructed. These instructions are updated daily at 5:00 PM.

General Information

Emergency: If illness or emergency prevent you from reporting for jury duty please call 518-853-8150 or 518-853-4516 after 9:00 am on the day you are to report. For Emergency CLOSURES please call (518) 285-4627.

Accessibility: If you have a disability and need an accommodation call 518-853-8150 or 1-800-662-1220 for relay call.

Court Hours: Court normally operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day. Court sessions rarely continue beyond 4:45 pm.

Electronics: Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly room and other waiting areas. They must be turned off during jury selection and trial. There is public access WIFI in the courthouse. There are also a computer work station in the law library for use in legal research only.

Meals: There is a lunch break everyday. Local eateries: Subway, Stewart's, Cumberland Farms, Dunkin Donuts, TJ's, Michael's Diner, McDonald's.

Parking/Transportation: The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees or parking violations. Parking is limited at and around the courthouse area, please plan to arrive early.

Security: All individuals entering the building must pass through a magnetometer.
