Instructions for the Term beginning:

Monday December 16th

All Jurors must now turn in Part H of your summons to complete your service

and be removed from the current list.

 

If you would like to serve on a different date, please contact this office

by Friday December 27th so we may set up a new week of your choosing.

 

There are no cases for the week of December 16th and, you are now dismissed

However, it is very important that all jurors now submit part H of their summons no later than Friday December 27th, or you will be marked absent and summoned again.

 

HOW TO TURN IN A PART H

 

Pictures or scans of Part H’s may be emailed to schenectadyjury@nycourts.gov

Part H’s may be sent in the mail to

Part H’s may also be brought to the Schenectady County courthouse and handed-in, in person or placed in our secure drop box on the second floor.

General Information

Absence or Emergency: If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call at 518-285-8516 as soon as possible.

Accessibility: If you have a disability or need an accommodation, call 518-285-8516 or 1-800-662-1220 for relay call.

Court Hours: Court normally operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day.  Court sessions rarely continue beyond 4:30 pm.

Electronics: Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly rooms and other waiting areas.  They must be turned off during jury selection and trial.  This includes electronic readers, they are NOT allowed to be used in the Courtroom.  There is public access WIFI available throughout the building.

Meals: There is a mid-day lunch break everyday (food is not provided).  Dining and shopping facilities are located within close proximity of the  courthouse in downtown Schenectady.

Parking/Transportation: The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees or parking violations.  Reduced fee ($3 all day) is available at the public parking garage at 220 Broadway (behind Proctor's) - you must bring your parking stub with you to be validated by the Commissioner of Jurors.  Accessible parking is available on State Street in front of the County Building. We do NOT recommend metered parking.  We can not guarantee you will be able to feed your meter throughout the day.

Security: Court Officers are stationed throughout the court.  Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter.  Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process.

Verification of Attendance: If an employer requires proof of service verification of attendance is available from the Commissioner of Jurors office.  If your employer requires a time of arrival and/or departure you must ask the Commissioner at the time of attendance.
