PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE COMMISSIONER OF JURORS OFFICE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE ONGOING PANDEMIC.

If you received a summons to serve as a stand-by Grand Juror beginning January 15, 2021, please call (518) 706-3255 the evening of January 14 to see if you must appear. Reporting instructions will be posted on this webpage also. If you need to take a one-time postponement, please follow the instructions in

part F of your summons. Postponement requests must be made before January 8. If you have postponed your jury duty previously, you won't be able to get a postponement through the automated system. If you are available to serve, please e-mail part H information to fultonjury@nycourts.gov on or before January 8. If you have any questions, please e-mail them to the same address. We will answer your questions as soon as possible.

The NYS Unified Court System would like to assure you that your health and safety remain a top priority for us as we resume essential court operations, including jury service.

​

Here is what jurors can expect when they arrive in court:

° All visitors -- including jurors, parties, attorneys, witnesses, spectators, law enforcement officers, prisoners, vendors and all other non-court system employees -- will be required to submit to temperature screening and questioning upon entering the courthouse.  Uniformed officers will use touchless infrared thermometers and will ask the following questions:

                Within the past 14 days, have you:

                                - had a fever, cough, shortness of breath or flu-like symptoms?

                                - tested positive for COVID-19?

                                - been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

                                - been directed to quarantine, isolate or self-monitor at home for coronavirus by any doctor, hospital or                        health agency?

                                - returned from travel abroad or from a State on the advisory watchlist?

          (a current list of States on the advisory watchlist is available at https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-  travel-advisory)

                                - been in close contact with anyone who has been outside the country or in a State on the advisory                            watchlist?

                       

                Anyone whose temperature is equal to or greater than 100° F or who answers “yes” to any of the above questions will                  not be permitted entry.  Jurors who fall into this category will be directed to call or email the Jury Commissioner in the                    county where summoned to discuss rescheduling jury service

  • Regular cleaning of court facilities with enhanced cleaning of commonly used areas

  • Limited people in courthouse

  • Mandatory use of face masks by court personnel and court visitors

    • Please bring your own mask/face covering

  • Plexiglass barriers may be present at various locations (i.e. magnetometers, x-ray machines, assembly room desks)

  • Indicators, like blue tape, may be present in public areas to ensure physical distance of at least 6 feet (to meet social distancing standards)

  • Hand sanitizer bottles and wall mounted dispensers are available for use by staff and for all court visitors

Please note the following:  

  • Commissioner of Jurors will continue to provide jurors with public wi-fi.

  • Bring your own pen/pencil and take it with you when you leave.

  • Bring your own books/magazines/electronic devices and chargers.

  • Jurors may bring their own resealable beverage and snack or food that does not require refrigeration or heating.

  • There will be staggered reporting times to ensure social distancing and all activities will be held in the courthouse to permit social distancing.

  • The following persons are not permitted entry into a court facility:                                                                                     

      Those who are experiencing flu-like symptoms

      Those who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days

      Those who have been directed to quarantine or self-monitor for COVID-19 by a medical authority or employer

      Those who are a caregiver for or have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

 

      Any summoned juror who falls into any one of these categories will be directed to call or email the Fulton Co. Commissioner of 

      Jurors to discuss rescheduling jury service.

General Information

Absence of Emergency: If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call at 518-706-3255 after 9:00 am on the day you are to report.

​

Accessibility: If you have a disability and need accommodation, call 518-706-3255 or 1-800-662-1220 for relay call.

​

Court Hours: Court normally operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm., with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day.  Court sessions rarely continue beyond 5:00 pm.

​

Electronics: Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly rooms and other waiting areas.  They must be turned off during jury selection and trial.

​

Meals: There is a mid-day lunch break everyday.

​

Parking/Transportation: The court does not pay for transportation fares, parking fees or parking violations. Park at the Office for Aging, corner of N. William and W. State Streets.

​

Security: Court Officers are stationed throughout the court.  Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter.  Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process.
