Notice from the Commissioner of Jurors re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In light of public concerns arising over the coronavirus, please note the following:

GRAND JURY

Jurors with a blue summons for Grand Jury dated November 30, 2020 with sequence number between and including: 1 Through 1,200 You are still on telephone standby. You must call back after 5 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020 for further reporting instructions. If you are a sworn Grand Juror, please continue your service.

PETIT JURY

Jurors with a yellow summons for Petit Jury, your jury service has been postponed. You will be summoned in the future.

The Commissioner of Jurors thanks all jurors for their time, cooperation and contribution to our system of justice.

General Information

Please note: Do not give out personal information to anyone that calls you; Please contact the Division of Jurors.

Absence or Emergency: If illness or emergency prevents you from reporting, please call 718-262-7226 after 8:30 am on the day you are to report.

Accessibility: If you have a disability and need accommodation, call 718-262-7226 or 1-800-662-1220 for relay call.

Court Hours: Court normally operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a lunch hour and breaks throughout the day. Court sessions rarely continue beyond 5:00 pm.

Electronics: Cell phones and other electronic devices may be used in the jury assembly rooms and other waiting areas. They must be turned off during jury selection and trial. There is public access WIFI in the County courthouse. There are computer work stations in the jury assembly room.

Meals: There is a mid-day lunch break. All meals are your responsibility. Restaurants and fast food chains are in the area. Vending machines with snacks and soda are available in Kew Gardens and Jamaica. Glass bottles are not permitted in the building. Lunch and dinner are furnished to deliberating jurors.

Public Transportation is Recommended: For travel information call: 718-330-1234 or visit the web at www.mta.info. The court does not pay for fares, parking fees or parking violations.

Security: Court Officers are stationed throughout the court. Members of the public must pass through a magnetometer to enter. Please arrive early and allow extra time for this process. Weapons or dangerous instruments of any kind are prohibited from the court buildings. Your cooperation is appreciated in this effort to keep our facility safe.
